The Kole's had quite an interesting show at The Malibu Winery last Saturday. The weather was questionable for sure. Cloudy skies and chilly. But..the show must go on! We did only a few songs before we were rained out and had to move the equipment fast. (In high healed boots I might add) It was a moment to remember for sure. And I got to share one of my new songs "Decemberland!" My hands slipped on the keyboard a little bit with the rain, but it was so much fun! We had some laughs after while drinking some Semler wine with wet hair and clothes. Great day!

New and Old
Beauty, truth, friendship, love, creation -- these are the great values of life. We Can't prove them, or explain them, yet they are the most stable things in our lives.
--Jesse Herman Holmes
I have been thinking a lot lately..about the abundance I feel in my life. I have met some pretty amazing people over the years and I feel so grateful for them in my life. Not just the past couple years though, over many years new and old. Even the friends I don't get to see very often. I just want to let you know how special you are to me. Thank you for all the joy you have brought me over the years and continue to bring me.
To my family: You are always there for me no matter what. You make me laugh so hard to the point of almost peeing myself..I am so grateful for such an awesome family. We really have the best times together!
Below is a link to a video I made of those who have forever left an imprint on my heart. You have made a huge impact in my life and I love you all so much!
The End.

Rosemary Chipotle Shrimp Appetizer
Hello friends! I thought I would share with you an easy yet delish recipe I made last night for our Mexican style dinner. Yum!
Rosemary Chipotle Shrimp Appetizer
What you will need:
1/4 cup olive oil
2 garlic cloves
1 lime
1 tsp chipotle chili powder
3 tbs cilantro
half a sprig of fresh rosemary
1 1/2 lbs of shrimp
salt & pepper
To make:
In a medium size mixing bowl add your olive oil. After finely chopping your
rosemary, cilantro and garlic squeeze 1 lime into bowl. Add your chili powder and salt and pepper followed by shrimp. Whisk together ingredients in the bowl and let marinade for about 10 minutes.
You can do these two ways. I pan fried them with all of the marinade for literally 2-4 minutes. Shrimp cooks fast and you don't want them to be too tough! You can also add these to the grill and skewer them with the actual rosemary stick for a nice presentation.
Now...Serve with a side of sliced limes and add some fresh rosemary for a garnish (see my picture above!)
And voila! A simple and quick recipe!

A Birthday to Remember
Looking back at all the years I've been on this glorious earth I realize that with each birthday comes so much more than just presents, cake and another "dreaded" year older. I will admit, I wasn't extremely excited to turn 23. And then I thought, well that's ridiculous! I'm young and no matter what age I turn I will embrace it damn it! Oh pardon me..
I'm noticing the little things and with each passing year I see a change in myself, my surroundings and people in my life. The truth is each year gets better. There are so many things to be grateful for. Of course there are many more responsibilities I've found as you get older. Keeping up with bills, your health, working towards your future, working on relationships with others and working on yourself!
It can all be a bit overwhelming but I'm starting to learn how to juggle it all, and you know what? I think with each passing year I will just keep getting better and better at it! Huh, who would of thought?! I think I like getting older..
Any-who, I thought I would share some of my pics from my birthday with you all. It was a great day spent with my wonderful boyfriend and friends. I was truly overwhelmed with the love that day and want to thank all my friends that made it that night to hang with me. I love you all so much and feel so blessed to know you all!
Started out the day with some Disneyland fun. Thanks for the suprise babe!

Gift of Love
We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can't just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it's going to get on by itself. You've got to keep watering it. You've got to really look after it and nurture it. John Lennon
23 goals for 23
So I just turned 23 on Monday and it got me thinking...I'm 23!!! When did that happen?! Time goes so fast and now is the time to put myself out there and accomplish my goals! I make my mini goals list for the week, but I want to do the big things as well! Break out of my shell and break those bad habits & excuses of "I'll do it next week." It's normal as people to stay inside our little bubble and do the normal routine. But if we never face our fears then we never get ahead! And I don't want to stay where I am, it's good to keep growing! So here we go Skyeler...let's do this!
1. Sing the National Anthem at a Lakers or King's game.
2. Worry less about going out and more about the next step in my career.
3. Talk to a complete stranger.
4. Go to more shows and study other musicians.
5. Get more makeup clients and network.
6. Surround myself with better artists than me to learn more.
7. Ask questions.
8. Maintain. Whether it be keeping up with regular car washes, doing laundry or continuing to be healthy and exercise regularly.
9. Practice piano more.
10. Write more songs.
11. Continue guitar lessons and kick ass at it.
12. Be compassionate with others and take into consideration if someone is not the nicest person in the world they may be going through something that I may not understand.
13. Talk less, listen more.
14. Hand out my demo reel for session singing to studios everywhere.
15. Get my name out there.
16. Stop saying what I want to do, and just DO.
17. Collaborate and write with other musicians.
18. Don't be too hard on myself, even if I am accomplishing one goal at a time at least I am moving forward.
19. Help others.
20. Move out with the boyfriend.
21. Make that money.
22. Always remember who I am and where I came from.
23. Love myself every day.
