Hot yoga is so hot right now..

So recently I've been getting into Bikram yoga and it's fabulous! I got a great deal from Groupon for 10 classes for $39 at a great yoga studio in Santa Monica called Hot8Yoga thanks to mama Kole! I had to get one for Ry to join with me and we love it!

I've been doing yoga for years and have always liked it, so I thought why not kick it up a notch with some heat! (Okay Emeril) I'm proud of myself for getting through the first class. Intense! It's definitely a challenge getting used to working out in temps of 105 and above. If you've never been..prepare to sweat! You will need to bring a change of clothes, drink a lot of water throughout the day before your class, and don't eat 2-3 hours before. You will get sick to your stomach during your practice!

Hot yoga is all about deep concentration on your breathe and the movement. You have to mentally prepare for this style of yoga for sure. I felt amazing after and so much more alert and present with the world. If you haven't tried Bikram please do. It's always great to challenge yourself to do things you never thought you would be able to do!

A Night at Hallenback's

The Kole's had a great show the other night at Hallenback's General Store. Really cute place in North Hollywood with a great vibe, awesome food and drinks, and down to earth people. They always have amazing performers play so check them out!

As an artist it means a lot when a crowd is really in tune with the music and listening to your lyrics or "personal diary." We get to share our experiences and stories through song and how amazing it is when others listen and really appreciate the music! It really is special that I get to share this with my family and we continue to watch each other grow musically. Love ya Kole's plus Uncle Jimmy!!

Below are some pictures from the night taken by the amazing Ryan Caliendo. It's always nice when he is apart of our gigs. It's like he's in the band now :P. Thanks babe!

I will keep you all posted about upcoming gigs and events. Thanks so much for reading this weeks blog and stay dry out there!!

Lovely weekend!

Wow, what a weekend! I had the privilege of singing the National Anthem for the ALS walk in Long Beach coordinated by my friend Angie Thorpe! She did such an awesome job putting together the entire event and will be in the news as well! Not to mention her organization exceeded their goal in raising money for a cure! Ryan and I also volunteered. He took the pictures for the walk while I did my thing and face painted for the kiddies! It was a great experience and can't wait for the next one. Later that night I also sang with The Kole's at Hallenback's in North Hollywood. Fun little venue with a great vibe.
In other news...This morning I went to an amazing service at the Center for Spiritual Living. If you haven't checked it out then you are missing out my friend! Such a positive and fulfilling experience. There was a guest speaker today Dr. Dennis. He has written many inspiring books and traveled all around to share his knowledge. Today was about getting more in tune with your spirituality. Embracing this roller coaster called life and rolling with the punches. It was a great way to start the day and feel good! As of now I am relaxing on this lazy Sunday and feeling very grateful. Especially since Mama Kole is making a fabulous dinner! Ciao!

Jennifer and John's Wedding

Jennifer and John's wedding was spectacular!! The love that surrounded the room was so special and the reception really was magical. I had the honor of singing the first dance as the happy couple entered. I feel so blessed that they wanted me to sing for their special day! Thanks guys! For all of you that were there..It's been quite amazing and a pleasure getting to know all of you. What an amazing group! Every one of you come from a place of love and kindness and have truly touched my heart. Thank you for bringing many smiles and laughs to my face this weekend and everytime we meet!

Oh Richard..

So, I just have to tell you all.. if you haven't experienced Richard Simmons, where have you been?! I couldn't have asked for a better time! Me and the gang went for Genevieve's birthday and decided to have a Mimosa before class.. Richard wasn't too happy!! But he is a very kind person. The second he walked in the door he gives kisses to all of us and asks how were doing. He has helped so many people to lose weight, it's really inspirational. For those of you that are interested in taking his class it's only 12 dollars at Slimmons Studio in Beverly Hills. If you go, I would love to hear all about it! The experience would not be the same if I didn't go with the fabulous people I did. I love you all and you are truly incredible people!! Very blessed for my life today and the people in it!

Negative Nancy

Do you ever really notice when you're being negative? Or do you just become used to complaining about everything that it's just something you do..Well I've been catching myself the past couple of weeks acting like a negative nancy. "Nothing is going the way I want it to" and, "Why is this happening to me." I think you get to a point where you're sick of it really. It's so easy to be negative, and one of the hardest things is to change your way of thinking. As of today I am extremely sick and it is NOT fun!! But..what am I grateful for? I am not dying first of all, so that's a pretty good thing. I have wonderful supportive family, friends, and boyfriend. I can rest in a comfy bed in my comfy room until I am better. So if you are reading this and we are close, let's keep each other in check..you let me know when I'm being a downer and I'll set you straight if you are being an uptight..excuse my french...biatch!
Just my thoughts for today! Gonna make it a good one.
